Pelvic Imbalance. Functional discrepancy in leg lengths.
This is a very gentle technique. Be sure of which leg is longer so you don’t aggravate an existing imbalance.
Measure your client’s leg lengths by shaking out their legs and comparing the relative positions of their medial malleolus on either side.
When your client is supine place blocks under the head of the femur on the long leg side and under the crest of the hip on the short leg side.
When your client is prone place blocks under the ASIS on the long leg side and under the head of the femur on the short leg side.
Leave blocks in place anywhere from 1 minute to 30 minutes or more. Shake out and remeasure.
