Decreased ROM with side bending (lateral flexion).
Use a pillow under the abdomen if there is an excessive lordosis.
Do not lift (hyperextend) the leg, just pull it laterally keeping it level with your clients trunk.
Cradle your client’s leg with your forearm so that their calf is resting on your forearm and your hand is proximal to their knee which is extended. This is the same cradling as you did for the psoas stretch (technique #3).
Pull leg laterally while pressing medially on spinous processes of lumbar vertebrae moving from L5 to L1.
