In the Deep Tissue Massage DVD I showed a technique for Balancing the Pubes that used an isometric contraction of the adductor muscles to cause traction at the pubic symphysis, allowing the two pubic bones to realign. This is very helpful after balancing leg lengths or after an adjustment as it will help stabilize the pelvis so it will maintain the balance.
The two variations I show here can be done in addition to the original technique.
Have your client supine with the knees up and apart, place your forearm in between their knees, then have them try to bring their knees together against resistance.
Bring your client's knees together then have them try to pull their knees apart against your resistance.
A variation on this is to have the client slowly raise and lower their hips from the table while trying to pull their knees together, and also when trying to pull their knees apart. The addition of movement makes this even more effective. I want to thank Erik Dalton and his Motion is Lotion DVD set for this variation. www.erikdalton.com
