Stretch

With one hand on your client’s shoulder and the other on the side of their head, gently stretch their head toward their other shoulder while keeping their nose pointed toward the ceiling. Stretch only as far as is comfortable.

 

Tense

Have your client attempt to bring their head back to the midline against your resistance - only as strong and as long as is comfortable.

 

Release

As the neck muscles fatigue, allow your client’s head to come back to the midline.

 

Restretch

With one hand on your client’s shoulder and the other on the side of their head, gently stretch their head toward their other shoulder while keeping their nose pointed toward the ceiling. Stretch only as far as is comfortable.
