With your client’s leg abducted press your knuckles 
into the gluteus medius at its attachment on the greater 
trochanter. Externally rotate the leg to work the gluteus 
minimus. 

Stroke superiorly toward the iliac crest while adducting 
the leg. To work the gluteus minimus, do this technique 
with the leg externally rotated.
