Have your client’s foot lateral to their other knee. Press
your client’s knee away from you as you press into the
belly of the piriformis. With proper draping, this can be
done as a gliding motion on the skin, moving the length of
the piriformis from the greater trochanter of the femur
to the sacrum.

This can also be done with your client making the
movement so that their use of their internal rotators will
cause their external rotators to relax.
