Have your client’s knee over the edge of the table so that
their hip is slightly hyperextended. With you leg push your
client’s foot back causing your client’s knee to flex and to
stretch their quadriceps. Move your knuckles from the
knee toward the ASIS while doing this movement. You can
do this with the thigh rotated internally or externally to
work different parts of the quadriceps.
After showing your client this movement you can have
your client kick their foot back themselves. Your client’s
use of their hamstrings to flex their knee will cause the
quadriceps to relax by reciprocal inhibition.
