To increase the mobility in the hip and to stretch the soleus and lower back.
Cautions
Be careful with clients with osteoporosis.
Be careful not to use too much oil. A student used this technique, and his hands slipped, causing him to hit himself in the jaw
Technique
Place your client’s heel next to their buttocks.
Sit gently on their foot and pull their knee towards you so that their hip raises.

I use this technique with my clients who have Parkinson’s Disease. I use it at the end of the session and it helps with nerve communication with their quads which then allows them to sit up and move their legs more easily.
