Rate this video

Indications

Tightness in quadriceps.
Inability to touch heel to buttocks.
Forward pelvic tilt.

Cautions

This is a very intensive stretch and should be done with caution.

Ask for feedback and respect the feedback you get.

Always press your clients sacrum inferiorally to protect their low back and isolate the stretch to the quadriceps.

Use a pillow under the abdomen if your client has a deep lordosis.

Go slowly with elderly clients.

Technique

With your client prone place one hand on their sacrum pressing inferiorally. With your other hand bring their heel toward their buttocks. Ask for feedback and do this slowly, especially with older clients.

If you are easily able to bring the foot to the buttocks, then a better stretch may be obtained by placing your knee on the table and resting your client’s knee on yours.
